Love The View From Here

I love photography and I love travel so when I can combine the two,

I'm a happy girl

Travel

Ever since I read a book about Egypt as a young girl, it sparked a desire in me to travel the world and explore it. The idea that I could walk the same streets as the Pharaohs or see the same vistas as the people of many centuries ago was exciting to my young imagination. That grew into a curiosity about other places in the world, the people who inhabit them, the cultures they express, the languages they speak and of course the food they eat. It's not always glamorous but it is always an adventure. I’ve now been to many places, with many more yet to explore and yes I even found my way to Egypt.

Photography

My love for photography was an inheritance from my Grandfather that lay dormant and unknown. When a school teacher built a makeshift dark room and showed those few interested kids how to develop images taken with a hand built pin-hole camera, my interest was sparked. The anticipation of watching the magic process that slowly brought the image to reality was exciting.  Although the process has changed dramatically with the digital age, the magic of creating an image out of my own interpretation of reality still excites me. I still have a lot to learn but in the meantime I intend to simply enjoy.

Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them
— Elliott Erwitt

Sometimes I may blog about my travels, just ramblings and musings but feel free to read, or not

Sometimes I may post photos of places I've been, feel free to browse, or not.
